                Paintball has been around since the 1970s. It is a pastime that is enjoyed by outdoor enthusiasts, weekend warriors, church groups, husbands & wives, law enforcement, and serious competitors. There are many different ways in which paintball can be played. I encourage everyone to come in and discover the popular growing sport and hobby of paintball.

                Paintball is played using paintball guns or paintball markers. The paintball markers shoot round .68 caliper paintballs out with the use of CO2 or Nitrogen Oxide at about 300 fps (feet per second). Everyone playing paintball has on a paintball mask and goggles. Most modern day paintball masks are made with the paintball goggles made into the mask. Upon getting hit with a paintball, the paintball will bust and mark the person’s clothing with paint. Don’t worry this paint will wash out! Upon being hit or marked, that person is eliminated from the game.

                Now I know what you are thinking…”I just got shot with a paintball…oww!” I assure that there is a little stinging sensation upon getting hit, but when wearing the proper paintball gear everyone is well protected. Paintball is not a game of causing pain on someone, but a game of skill, friendships, and unity. This is a game that everyone who plays feels enthused to be a part.

                There are many different ways in which to play paintball depending on how you enjoy playing. Capture the flag is probably the oldest and most popular game. There are 2 teams that both have a flag in a stationary position on opposite ends of a playing field. Each team’s objective is to capture the other team’s flag and bring it back to where their own flag is stored. The first team to capture the other teams flag or eliminate all of the other team’s players wins.

                Speedball is another type of paintball game. There are 2 teams that usually consist of only 3 – 5 players per team. The teams are in a close confined area with lots of paintball barriers on the playing field. When the horn sounds to start the game, the teams try to eliminate all of the other team’s players as quickly as possible. The first team to eliminate the other team wins. This game has grown extremely popular in the last 15 years and national tournaments are held playing this game.

                So now that you know a little about paintball, how it is played and a few of the games you can play, I encourage you to come in and discover everything you need to become the world’s newest player. Discuss with amateurs and pros alike about their experiences and times they have had playing paintball. This is a true sport of the ages that guarantees to be an exhilarating experience in the World of Paintball.
